Park staff will answer +1 831 338-8861 if available. for All visitors must register and pay camping and day use fees at Park Headquarters. When Park Headquarters is closed, a self-registration at Park Headquarters can be used to register and pay camping and day use fees. When open, Park Headquarters sells park trail maps and a self-guided brochure for the Redwood Loop nature trail.

Restrooms and Showers
Restrooms are within close proximity to all camp sites.
Coin operated showers are at Huckleberry and Sempervirens camps. The cost is $0.25 (Quarters only) for 2 minutes.
General Store
Food, beverages, essential camping supplies, firewood and more are available at the Big Basin Redwoods Store located across the street from Park Headquarters. For store hours and information, call (831) 338-4745. Hours vary seasonally.
Gift Shop

Museum
See wonderful photographs of the area from years past, learn about redwood forests, and see the many birds, reptiles, insects and mammals that live in Big Basin. Hours vary seasonally. Free admission.
Telephones
Public pay telephones are located next to Park Headquarters. Mobile phones generally do not work in many areas of the park, including the area near Park Headquarters. Some may work at higher elevations. Traveling three four miles (either direction) on Highway 236 generally puts you within reach of mobile phone service.
Boulder Creek
There are several stores, restaurants, gas station, public telephones, and other services located in Boulder Creek just 9.3 miles south of Park Headquarters, at the junction of Highways 9 and 236.
Accessibility
All campgrounds provide accessible campsites, restrooms and showers.
Tent Cabins
Concession-operated Tent Cabins offer accessible Tent Cabins, parking, restrooms and showers. Picnic Area.
Picnic Area
Accessible restrooms, parking and picnic sites are available at the main Gazos Creek picnic area.
Trails
The Redwood Loop Trail is a popular 0.63-mile accessible interpretive trail that offers a nice view of Opal Creek. Accessible parking is at the trailhead near Park Headquarters. A segment of the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail is also accessible along the Redwood Loop Trail.
Exhibits/Programs
Visitor Center. The Sempervirens Room visitor center is located in the Park Headquarters building. The room and its exhibits are generally accessible.
Horses
Horses are allowed on dirt fire roads and designated horse trails only. The Big Basin State Park map shows all designated horse trails.
